The Shadows Of The Damned Trailer Is An Extended Dick Joke With Pedigree

Some may think this promotional trailer for Shadows of the Damned is too juvenile because it’s essentially a laundry list of penis double entendres — not me.

I’m a sucker for dick jokes so they definitely got my attention with that, but after doing a little digging, I was surprised to find out that the game is actually a joint venture of acclaimed Japanese game designers Goichi Suda (No More Heroes/Killer 7) and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil).

That’s a little mind blowing. It’s analogous to maybe something like a joint movie between Quentin Tarantino and JJ Abrams. Needless to say, Shadows of the Damned is now on my video games radar. It’s scheduled for release on June 21, 2011.

Some Dude Soloed Yogg-Saron In World Of Warcraft

Alright, this one may be just for me and those who have ever played World of Warcraft, but this video is pretty damn mindblowing.

Some dude killed one of the toughest raid bosses (Yogg-Saron, the tentacled, thousand moutheyes Old God) from the last World of Warcraft expansion by himself. This encounter used to take either 10 or 25 HIGHLY coordinated people and was the final boss of the game for a bit. I remembered doing this with a ten person group and still wiping for hours.

The real life equivalent would maybe be like an NBA player playing 1 on 5 vs, say, a high-school team. Yes, he’s a lot more skilled than the high-schoolers, but it’s still a cooperative team-game at heart.

Apparently it took him hours of trial and error to get the strategy and execution done right, but, by golly, he won in the end! I tip my hat to you, sir.

This Is One Of The Most Awesome Things Family Guy Has Done In Five Years

I’ll be the first to admit that Family Guy jumped the shark several years ago. But every once in awhile, they’ll put out an episode with a gem inside like they did this past week.

The setup is that Peter gets into a dispute with Lois’s favorite dry cleaner, Mr. WasheeWashee. Eventually they get into a fight in the old school Street Fighter 2 style. It’s admittedly very well done. Love how Peter says “tatsumaki senpuukyaku.”

They Are Making A Street Fighter Vs Tekken Game

Given that there’s a Street Fighter vs _____ game for almost everything these days, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Capcom and Namco are working on Street Fighter X Tekken. But I’d be lying if I said I knew of its existence before. It looks like a mashup between Tekken Tag Tournament and Street Fighter 4, which is shaping up to be pretty darn awesome if you ask me.

Also, after watching this trailer it’s no surprise why the Tekken fighters are such big pussies. They can’t shoot fireballs or sonic booms and shit so they get their asses kicked by some real fighters. I mean, look at this shit, they get beastified by the Street Fighter dudes. (Can you tell which game I was partial to as a kid?)

Watch LCD Soundsystem’s Three And A Half Hour Last Show From MSG 4/2/11

Apparently Pitchfork TV streamed LCD Soundsystem’s entire three hour, forty-one minute last performance from Madison Square Garden over the weekend. This is some epic shit here, folks. Not only did Arcade Fire show up to guest on “North American Scum,” LCD Soundsystem played the entire 45:33 mix! I guess if you’ve planned out your band’s last live show, you may as well go hog wild and play for almost four friggin’ hours. What a way to go out.

I recommend using something like SaveYoutube to download a local copy of the show just in case someone forces Pitchfork or YouTube to take down the video someday.

My Little Pony Mass Effect 2 Mashup

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Someone dubbed and edited some My Little Pony cartoon clips with Mass Effect 2 audio.

The result?

Probably the most fun you’ll have watching My Little Pony ever.

Charlie Sheen Dubbed Call of Duty Game Is Hilarious

You know, all of his quotes work surprisingly well in the context of a Call of Duty match commentary. The only way this would be better if they had live video of him playing. Although, I’m sure he would have much more… colorful language to deploy to our friends on Xbox Live.

New Radiohead Album, “The King Of Limbs” And Video Are Out

Looks like the Radiohead boys were itchy to get their new music out to the wild as they flipped the switch to download their new album, “The King of Limbs,” a day early. Before you get visions of “In Rainbows” and expect to download this album for free, know that the price of admission is $9 for an MP3 and $14 for the WAV files. You can still pre-order the “Newspaper album” (essentially a collector’s edition) version of The King Of Limbs that includes a download for a cool $48. It’s a little curious as to why they’re not selling a standard CD version or something tangible in between the $9 download and the $48 extravaganza. Consequence of Sound reports that there will be a standard CD/Vinyl release on March 28th, so why not get in on that pricing tier on their own band site?

I’ve given the 8 track album about two listens so far and I’m not exactly blown away. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, it’s just decidedly…Radiohead. Bear in mind that I’m the type of fan that likes to hear bands succeed at trying out new musical styles. That being said, I can’t really see myself springing for the Newspaper Album, despite wanting to own something collectible.

Give yourself a little sample with this video of “Lotus Flower”:

New Airborne Toxic Event Single – “Changing”

I gotta say I’m a little nonplussed by the Airborne Toxic Event’s new single, “Changing.” A couple of years ago, “Sometime Around Midnight” really connected with me. It had the perfect blend of melody with emotional gravitas and an amazing climax. (“then you walk under a streetlight…”) I still get chills listening to that song today. “Changing” just makes me think of a generic mid-nineties modern rock band.

Dead Space 2 Hand Cannon/Foam Finger Hard Core Mode Unlock

Wow, can’t say I saw this Foam Finger weapon coming as a reward for finishing Dead Space 2 on the hardest difficulty. It’s both the coolest and most annoying weapon I’ve seen in a game yet.
