Download The New Underworld Song – Scribble

Our boys in Underworld (along with Welsh DnB producer, High Contrast) have finally evolved one of their old live standbys, “You Do Scribble” into a delightful new single.

Nothing like some inspiring drum and bass to get you through that early morning commute or run.  Can’t wait for the full 8 minute long version of this.  Feels like this 3 minute radio edit is just the taste of something grand.

Scribble? I’ll do you one further and Scrobble the heck outta this song.

Download the MP3 free for the next 7 days. (email required to sign up)

Free Portal (Steam For Mac Released)

A few years ago, I would have scoffed at all the adorable Apple faithful every time they got a feature or program that we PC users have had for ages.  The tables have turned, now that I own a Mac myself.

The much ballyhooed Steam Mac client was finally released this morning.  I freely admit to being one of those jackholes who refreshes his browser all morning in anticipation for software that has already been out for six years on a platform I already own.  Whatever, I’m excited to finally be able to play Torchlight on my Macbook without having to reboot into Windows.  It’s all about laziness, folks.

Oh, by the way, Valve is giving away free copies of Portal for the next 12 days to celebrate this (whether you’re a PC or Mac user), so please grab it if you’re one of the few people who haven’t played it yet.

Download The New Interpol Single – Lights

If you like Interpol, you’ll probably like this new song.  If you don’t… well… at least you can still make exaggerated impressions of the dude’s voice.

New Jay-Z Single (Now With More Oasis Dissing)

A few days ago, Stereogum posted this video of Jay-Z and Kanye debuting a new track from Jigga’s upcoming new album, Blueprint 3. It’s rumored that it’ll be produced (mostly) by Kanye West.  Now, it appears as if the internets have leaked the full studio track for the Oasis-slamming track, “Jockin’.”

I gotta admit, the mocking way he sings the perfectly chosen Wonderwall line really gets those Gallagher brothers right between their taints.

Your move, smarmy Brits.

Firefox 3.0 Final Released

firefox 3.0 logo

As a blog dedicated to the betterment of humanity, I feel it is my duty to inform you, the grand hope for mankind, that the latest version of Firefox is now available for download.

If you want to know more about the release, Lifehacker has a great write up here.  All I know is that one of the new features added is called the “AwesomeBar.”  I didn’t really need any other reason to upgrade.

Oh, and I guess there’s some sort of push to break the Guinness Record for most downloads in a day on this or something.

This One’s On Trent

nine inch nails the slip album art

Remember the cryptic ID3 tag from the Nine Inch Nails – Discipline single download a couple weeks ago?  Well, May 5th is upon us and a visit to reveals that the surprise is none other than a completely free download of a new Nine Inch Nails album entitled The Slip.

as a thank you to our fans for your continued support, we are giving away the new nine inch nails album one hundred percent free, exclusively via

the music is available in a variety of formats including high-quality MP3, FLAC or M4A lossless at CD quality and even higher-than-CD quality 24/96 WAVE. your link will include all options – all free. all downloads include a PDF with artwork and credits.

for those of you interested in physical products, fear not. we plan to make a version of this release available on CD and vinyl in july. details coming soon.

I love how Trent continues to put out his material in proper digital formats, word is that the MP3 encodes are LAME V0 – none of this “encoded in iTunes” n00bery.  All it takes to download is your email address again.  I’m still waiting on my download link, but it looks to be the same process as it was in downloading “Discipline.”

Although, coming so quickly off the heels of “Ghosts I-IV,” I have a sliver of doubt of the album’s quality.  I’m guessing it’s a more traditional Nine Inch Nails album, but could Trent be oversaturating us with material?

Regardless, free albums are awesome, especially with the presentation that Trent is putting forth here.

Download The New Nine Inch Nails Single For Free

nine inch nails discipline single new cover art

No, that’s not a black and white version of Coldplay’s X&Y cover up there, it’s the cover to the latest Nine Inch Nails single, Discipline.  This ain’t no BS instrumental either,  we get to hear Trent Reznor’s soothing vocals layered over a 122 bpm bed.  It’s a vintage Nine Inch Nails song, fans casual and hardcore alike should be into it.

If you look within the ID3 tag of the single, there’s a cryptic note that says:

Go to May 5

Hmmmm, maybe more free tracks? An album release date?

You can get your own copy of discipline here.  All it takes is your email and you get a pristinely encoded VBR MP3.  Trent takes care of his fans.
